What is The Pastors’ College?
The Pastors’ College has been approved by the Ontario
Ministry of Colleges and Universities as an educational
ministry of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Toronto, Canada.
Its purpose is to prepare Christians for ministry, and to foster a love for God's Word.
What makes it different?
Courses are taught by Tutors who are pastors, thus closing the
gap between theory and practice. Students learn from those
engaged in pastoral work. The curriculum has been simplified
to focus on what is most needed for pastoral ministry.
What is the Pastoral Program?
Students enrolled in the Pastoral Program meet weekly with
their Tutor for instruction from September to April. Weekly
readings and written assignments will normally be given,
along with term papers and final exams.
What are Personal Enrichment Courses?
Since there are no classes, Personal Enrichment courses are
offered on an individual basis anytime. Interested students
will pursue a reading course supervised by the Tutor. There
will normally be a monthly one-on-one meeting with the
Tutor. However, those living at a distance may substitute a
monthly telephone call. There are no written assignments or
exams.
What does it cost to attend The Pastors’ College?
There are no tuition fees. The members and friends of
Metropolitan Baptist Church believe that God’s church
should bear the burden of training Christians for ministry.
Living expenses, accommodation, textbooks, transportation,
health insurance, etc., are the responsibility of the individual
student. Interested Christians who share our convictions are
invited to support this ministry. Donations receive a
charitable tax-receipt.
Who can apply?
All students must be a Christian, at least 18 years of age, and complete the
application form (available on-line). The Pastors’ College reserves the right
to exercise sole discretion in granting admission to any
applicant.
